Idris Elba will return to his role as a negotiator: the series 'Hijack' has officially been renewed for a second season
Gathered rave reviews and high ratings, the series from Apple TV Plus "Hijack", got a sequel.
Here's What We Know
Idris Elba, who played negotiator Sam Nelson, will reprise his role. Also, first season director and co-writer Jim Field Smith has confirmed his return as director.
The first season, which consisted of seven episodes and aired in July 2023, follows Sam on a flight from Dubai to London when his plane is - as is easy to guess - hijacked. Putting his skills to professional use, he attempts to resolve the situation to save the lives of the passengers, but realises that the hijacker has a slightly more complicated task than it seems.
Idris had earlier admitted that he didn't expect the series to be so popular:
"I was floored by the overwhelming audience response after season 1" admitted Elba.
Series Overview
As usual, plot details of the upcoming season remain under lock and key.
"It’s top secret what new situation unfolds for Sam Nelson, but I can assure you we will bring the high octane back!" promised Elba.
Most likely, the action will unfold this time will not be in an aeroplane. However, how otherwise, the series will be able to justify its name, remains a mystery.
When We Can Expect It
