Zach Dean is reportedly writing the script for another Fast & Furious, but there remains a big question as to what that project will be

Is it "Furious 11" or "Fast X: Part Two"? A spin-off about Luke Hobbs, played by Dwayne Johnson? Journalist Jeff Sneider drops an explosive bombshell when he reports that Zach Dean is working on something big in the "Fast & Furious" universe. But what exactly is he working on?

Here's What We Know

This news confuses things completely.

The last film, "Fast X," ended on a thrilling moment, but fans of the series have learned that before returning for "Fast 11" (or "Fast X: Part Two," as it may eventually be titled...), further plot development will head in the direction of a spin-off starring Luke Hobbs, played by The Rock.

According to Snyder, draft scripts for "Fast X: Part Two" written by Oren Uziel and Christina Hodson are still being developed, as Universal see "a lot of promising ideas" in them.

However, it is noted that "Fast 11" is NOT at the top of Universal's priorities at this time. More emphasis is being placed on creating a "bridge" between the films, with Hobbs taking centre stage, and "Fast 4" screenwriter Chris Morgan has joined the project.

Now, we're being told that screenwriter Zak Dean is working on something important in the "Fast and Furious" universe. Snyder hints that this could be the latest draft of the script for both "Fast 11" and the Hobbes film.

There's another possibility worth considering: a new "Fast & Furious" project that would kick off a new saga, leaving Dominic Toretto and other major characters in the past. Saga stars like Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez have been hinting for years that the series would continue in a new direction after their departure.

Diesel has also mentioned a "female Fast and Furious" on more than one occasion. The actor has stated that a female spin-off would be the PROJECT that would follow "Fast 12." While his calculations didn't quite match reality, perhaps that's the project Dean is working on?

Considering nothing is ever too fantastic in the world of "Fast & Furious," we should just wait for further updates.
