Ukrainian Armed Forces start repairing M777 howitzers on their own (video)

The Command of the Logistics Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has published a video showing Ukrainian specialists repairing American M777 howitzers.

Here's What We Know

The repair is an important step as the 155mm howitzer is one of the main artillery systems in service with NATO. In addition, it is an opportunity to reduce the time for logistics to NATO countries, where they would be repaired.

In addition, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have launched repair work on a larger scale, as they began repairing Western weapons back in 2022, when the US Army set up a "remote repair" centre. American engineers instructed their Ukrainian colleagues via encrypted chats, providing drawings, explanations, and the necessary components.

It should be noted that this is the first report that Ukraine has mastered the complete repair of a howitzer. For example, several M777s can be seen in the footage.

For those who don't know

The M777 is a light towed howitzer made by British-American manufacturers that is chambered for 155mm calibre. The cost for export is approximately $3.7 million per unit.
