Alan Wake 2 became Remedy Entertainment's fastest-selling game with 1.2 million copies sold

Mystical horror Alan Wake 2 has become one of the highest-rated games of 2023.

However, as seen in Remedy Entertainment's official report, the sales of the thriller are not comparable to the performance of other blockbusters of last year.

The Finnish company reported that it has sold 1.3 million copies of Alan Wake 2 since October 2023.

Remedy head Tero Virtala stated:

We are pleased with Alan Wake 2's launch sales. Its price has been kept at a high level and the game has already recouped most of its development and advertising costs.

Yes, Remedy says that Alan Wake 2 is selling faster than any other game of the studio, but it should be noted that, for example, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 sales reached 10 million copies in the same period.

Of course, it should be remembered that Alan Wake 2 is a rather niche project, moreover, the games of Finnish developers usually show themselves well on a long distance. So, the initial sales of Control were not impressive either, but at the moment more than 4 million copies of the game have been sold.

Recall, for Alan Wake 2 is preparing two story additions - Night Springs, which will be released in the spring of 2024, and Lakehouse - release is expected in autumn.
