Nintendo postpones Switch 2 console for a year
Nintendo has informed game publishers that the next generation of the Switch will not be released in 2024, as planned, but at least in the first quarter of 2025.
Here's What We Know
Switch 2 (an unconfirmed name for the console) was supposed to be launched at the end of 2024. However, according to sources, game publishers have already received a notification from Nintendo that the release is postponed to March 2025 at the earliest. This means that the next version of the Switch will miss the key holiday period, which is considered to be the ideal time for the console debut.
It is also noted that the company is holding back a small number of the most anticipated games so that they can be released immediately on Switch 2.
It should be added that the first generation of the console was released more than seven years ago, in 2017.
For those who don't know
The Switch is a hybrid game console that combines the features of a home game console and a portable system.
