Autonomy should be improved: An insider has revealed new details about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 foldable smartphones

Samsung's next generation of foldable devices - Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 are expected to go on sale in the second half of 2024. Various leaks and rumours have already started spreading about the future models. And now there is information about the batteries of the devices.

Here's What We Know

The 91Mobiles resource has revealed that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 batteries have been listed by BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards). Two variants of the Z Fold 6 battery were spotted on the site, EB-BF956ABE and EB-BF956ABY. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 batteries were also spotted on BIS at one time and they had similar code names, namely EB-BF936ABY and EB-BF937ABY. This suggests that there may be two batteries or perhaps this is part of a dual battery system.

The last two batteries with model numbers EB-BF741ABE and EB-BF741ABY are believed to be from the Galaxy Z Flip 6. Unfortunately, no other details are available on the site. The upcoming foldable phone will be powered by a 4,000mAh total battery capacity, as opposed to the 3,700mAh power source inside the Galaxy Z Flip 5. That's about 8% more battery capacity, and combined with a more power-efficient processor, the phone should offer longer battery life. As for the Galaxy Z Fold 6, it is also expected to have a larger battery capacity due to its wider body, but the battery capacity is yet to be disclosed.

According to rumours, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 may come with the same camera as the Galaxy S24 Ultra, that is, a 200-megapixel 1/1.3-inch sensor, f/1.7 aperture with autofocus and OIS support. Meanwhile, the Z Flip 6's main camera might also see a significant jump from 12 MP to 50 MP. Both smartphones are likely to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 For Galaxy processor. The Z Fold 6 display may get larger bezels on the cover and main display. The larger outer display could make the aspect ratio of the folded Z Fold 6 look more like a regular smartphone. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 may also come with a slightly larger size and a larger internal display. There has been speculation that the Z Flip 6's outer screen could increase by 3.6 inches, which could provide more features and applications.

There is also information about the available Z Fold 6: The alleged internal codename of the Z Fold 6 is Q6. There are rumours of an affordable variant codenamed Q6A. Perhaps, this entry-level Z Fold 6 will get the FE(Fan Edition) prefix.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 are expected to be unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked event in the middle of this year.
