Ukraine produced 200,000 FPV drones in the first months of 2024
In the first two months of the new year, the Ukrainian defence industry was able to produce approximately 200,000 FPV drones.
Here's What We Know
Deputy Minister for Strategic Industries Hanna Hvozdyar told Forbes that Ukraine's production capacity will reach 2 million different drones a year, and not just FPVs.
According to her, new types of FPV drones are currently being developed, such as a "wing" or light reconnaissance drones that could replace Chinese Mavic quadcopters.
Flashback
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are actively using small and relatively cheap FPV drones, and have recently begun to equip them with night vision. Such UAVs can also carry a warhead weighing up to 4 kilograms over a distance of 40-50 kilometres. And to operate at maximum distances, repeater drones are used.
