SwitchBot Lock Pro: universal smart lock with Matter and voice assistant support
Smart lock maker SwitchBot has announced the launch of its upgraded next-generation smart lock, Lock Pro, which is compatible with multiple lock types for different regions of the world. The manufacturer notes that in addition to fingerprints, Lock Pro offers 15 different solutions for unlocking the lock. The new product supports the Matter smart home standard, and its dual power supply solves the issue of battery life.

Unlock Options
In addition to fingerprints, SwitchBot Lock Pro can be unlocked using generated one-time or temporary valid codes. As well as voice assistants Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple Siri. The lock can be used in the Samsung SmartThings smart home ecosystem and any other Matter-enabled smart home ecosystem (requires a separate Hub Mini Matter Enabled device). Unlocking is possible via a smartphone app, connected NFC cards and Apple Watch. The lock design also allows the use of the original physical key from the door lock.
Fingerprint Sensor
The manufacturer calls its fingerprint sensor the best in the industry and emphasises that the lock can store up to 100 user fingerprints. And the fingerprint recognition system itself works with 98% efficiency and a recognition time of 0.3 seconds.
Powering the SwitchBot Lock Pro
The SwitchBot Lock Pro works with 4 AA batteries and can be used with the proprietary dual power supply, which notifies when the first battery is low and can run on the second battery while the user charges the first. Even with a fully discharged battery, the lock can be unlocked using a passive power source (external power bank). How the dual powerbank system works can be seen on the manufacturer's video:

The SwitchBot Lock Pro comes in two bundles and three modifications for different markets. The basic kit includes only the lock itself. The advanced kit consists of the lock, Hub Mini Matter Enabled and Keypad Touch, which extends the functionality of the lock and allows the use of NFC cards and numeric code dialing on the panel.
