European Union lawmakers are about to vote on one of the world's first artificial intelligence laws.
Here's What We Know
The European Parliament is ready to vote on this law on 13 March. It took more than five years after it was first discussed at the EU government level. The Artificial Intelligence Act is expected to become a "global guideline" for other governments trying to regulate new technologies.
According to the Romanian MEP, the main goal is to steer the future of AI in a human-centric direction. That is, for people to control the technology, and for it to help make new discoveries, develop the economy, society, etc.
