Surpassing "The Boys?": "Invincible" holds the top spot on Prime Video and gets a perfect rating on Rotten Tomatoes
The superhero animated series "Invincible", or rather the second part of the second season, is already on the air and is gaining rave reviews, as well as causing a new wave of comparisons to "The Boys".
Here's What We Know
So far we've only seen one episode of the second half of "Invincible," and the series already holds a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and tops the list of most streamed shows on Prime Video.
Based on the comic book created by Robert Kirkman, the animated series is about the son of superhero Omni-Man, 17-year-old teenager Mark Grayson, who also becomes a superhero under his father's guidance. Mark tries to find a balance between the life of an ordinary man and the life of a superhero by trying to be like his ancestor.
Amid the similarities of the superhero plot, some viewers have noticed similarities between "Invincible" and "The Boys," another major series on Prime Video:
-"Invincible is back and managed to make something more viscerally uncomfortable to watch than The Boys so that's badass" one fan on Twitter. Another added: "In terms of blood/gore in superhero related shows, Invincible is essentially an animated The Boys. They’re equally grotesque in their detail of death, it’s phenomenal work".
Among the actors voicing characters in the series are Steven Yeun, Sandra Oh and J. K. Simmons.
As a reminder, "Invincible" airs weekly on Prime Video.
