Rumour: Samsung is preparing a cheaper version of the Galaxy Fold 6 that won't have an S Pen stylus
Previously, the media has already reported rumours that Samsung is preparing several versions of the foldable Galaxy Fold 6 smartphone, including a cheaper model. A new report from ETNews confirms this.
Here's What We Know
According to the leak, the budget Galaxy Fold 6 will lose one of its main features - it won't support working with the S Pen stylus.
What other differences the two devices will have is still unclear. Most likely, Samsung will take an example from the Galaxy A and Galaxy FE series, which offer flagship-like smartphones but with simplified features. This means cutting back on certain pieces of hardware, such as cameras or RAM, to keep costs down.
But why would Samsung develop a cheap foldable smartphone in the first place? It's simple - because of competition. While the company used to dominate the market almost unimpeded, now more and more brands are challenging it. Therefore, in order not to lose its leadership position, it would be wise to attract buyers with pleasant prices.
The Galaxy Fold 6 and Galaxy Flip 6 are expected to debut in July or August.
