The director of the Fallout series, Jonathan Nolan, has admitted that he had absolutely no intention of pleasing fans of the game with his film adaptation
Speaking at a recent press event, Jonathan Nolan stated that he did not approach the adaptation of the video game "Fallout" with the goal of pleasing fans.
Here's What We Know
The series of the same name is created by Nolan and Lisa Joy, the creative geniuses known for the "Westworld" series, and is based on the popular video game series. The first part of the game was released back in 1997, followed by four sequels and several spin-offs. A new instalment of the game, Fallout 5, is currently under active development.
According to Nolan, approaching the series with the goal of meeting the expectations of the game's fans would be "misguided."
"I don't think you really can set out to please the fans of anything." expressed Nolan. "Or please anyone other than yourself. I think you have to come into this trying to make the show that you want to make and trusting that, as fans of the game [ourselves], we would find the pieces that were essential to us... and try to do the best version.".
