Financial Times launches Ask FT chatbot
This innovative tool is based on the Financial Times' own publications and is designed to answer subscribers' questions.
Flashback
The Financial Times (FT) is one of the leading international publications specialising in news and analysis in business, finance, economics and international events. It is published by the large British media group Pearson PLC and has a reputation as one of the most influential newspapers in the world.
Here's What We Know
Subscribers who have access to FT Professional can use Ask FT to get answers to questions about recent events or broad topics covered by the Financial Times. This chatbot, similar to well-known artificial intelligence models such as ChatGPT or Copilot, can analyse questions and provide answers in natural language.
Ask FT uses FT archives and publications to find answers to questions. For example, a question about leadership at Microsoft resulted in an accurate answer and the bot referred to the latest news. However, during testing, some inconsistencies in the answers were found, indicating the need for further improvement of the system.
It is noted that Ask FT is currently available only to a limited number of FT Professional subscribers and that the system is still in beta testing. The company will continue to develop and improve the chatbot in accordance with the needs of users.
