Producer and director of Final Fantasy 14 may have hinted at a remake of Final Fantasy 9

A month has already passed since the release of Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, so fans' attention has slowly begun to shift to the final part of the FF 7 remake trilogy, but Square Enix seems to have more Final Fantasy surprises in store, including a rumoured remake of Final Fantasy 9. Naoki Yoshida, the producer and director of Final Fantasy 14, recently hinted at this remake.

Here's What We Know

During the PAX East panel dedicated to Final Fantasy 14, it was revealed that the collector's edition of the upcoming Dawntrail expansion pack will contain bonus items related to Final Fantasy 9. Yoshida intriguingly mentioned this, saying that the reason for their inclusion is a "secret".

Interestingly, references to Final Fantasy 9 have appeared on the official level before: last November, Square Enix held a crossover in the mobile game Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis.
