Panasonic Avionics has announced the launch of its advanced Astrova inflight entertainment system on commercial flights. According to the manufacturer, these systems promise to provide passengers with a high-quality image thanks to built-in OLED TVs.
Here's What We Know
Astrova screens will be different from traditional LCD panels, which are still used on many flights.
One of the key advantages of these systems is the built-in USB-C charging ports that can charge devices with a power of up to 100W. Passengers will also be able to use wireless headphones, as the system supports Bluetooth.
Icelandair and Qantas will be the first to introduce Astrova systems, with plans to install them on their aircraft in 2025 and late 2024, respectively.
