A new feature of Microsoft Edge: Monitor your RAM usage
Microsoft is testing a new feature that will allow users to control how much RAM the Edge browser uses.
Here's What We Know
This feature is found in the latest version of Edge Canary and can be really useful for those who face limited memory on their devices. Users will be able to limit their RAM consumption using a special indicator that displays the amount of memory from 1 to the maximum value appropriate for their hardware.
However, it is important to note that setting the limit too low may affect browser performance, so the choice should be made wisely. To access this feature, owners need to go to Edge settings and activate it in the Performance section.
This feature is currently only available to some Edge Insiders, but is expected to be available to other users in the coming weeks. Please note that the exact release date for this feature in the stable channel has not yet been set.
A new section on the Settings page could allow you to control how much RAM Edge can use, you can also choose whether this control is activated only when you are playing a game or always:https://t.co/YiCu5igL0U pic.twitter.com/pE29PI6FfR
