Intel and Microsoft announce strategic partnership to compete with Apple
The main goal of this partnership is to develop Intel Lunar Lake chips for the next generation of thin and light laptops.
Here's What We Know
According to the companies' joint statements, these chips will be optimised to run Windows 11.
Intel Lunar Lake is noted for its high integration and advanced features, integrated next-generation Intel Arc Battlemage graphics and a neural processing unit for advanced intelligence. Another important feature is the support of LPDDR5X-8533 memory directly on the SoC, which provides high performance and space savings in the system.
The partnership between Intel and Microsoft marks a new chapter in collaboration between hardware and software vendors. By joining forces, they hope to create products that will compete with Apple's own solutions and offer consumers new alternatives.
New laptops equipped with Intel Lunar Lake chips and Windows 11 operating system will be available later this year.
