WhatsApp has officially unveiled its new navigation bar
WhatsApp has been working hard on updates this month, making a number of functional and visual changes to the app's design. With the end of March approaching, Meta has announced that WhatsApp's new navigation bar design will remain permanent.
Here's What We Know
WhatsApp is introducing a new bottom bar design to simplify navigation, following Material Design principles. The Android app now has four evenly spaced tabs in the bottom bar, making them easier to access with your thumb. In addition, WhatsApp developers are testing a new chat suggestions feature, which is located at the bottom of the list of active chats.

However, that doesn't mean beta testers can rest. Portal WABetaInfo reports that they recently discovered a new feature that suggests contacts you might want to chat with. In the new beta version of the app (version 2.24.7.23), it is noticed that the app developers are working on a new "Recommended Contacts" section under the "Chats" tab. This feature is still under development and the final implementation of the feature may vary.
