Elon Musk and Company X support Jack Dorsey's lawsuit against Square for the right to free speech
Company X, headed by Elon Musk, announces the funding of a lawsuit filed by former Square employee Chloe Happe against Jack Dorsey himself.
Here's What We Know
In her lawsuit, Happe claimed that her dismissal was unlawful because she expressed her political views in the form of satire on her personal account. She emphasises that these statements were not work-related and did not violate company policy.
This lawsuit comes on the heels of other lawsuits funded by X in defence of "freedom of speech". Earlier, the company funded Gina Carano's lawsuit against Lucasfilm and Disney.
Elon Musk spoke out in support of Happe, retweeting a message of support for her right to freedom of speech.
Happe is asking the court to reinstate her in her position and compensate her for losses, including damages and salary since her dismissal.
