Hacker attack on Activision users detected

According to a TechCrunch report, the attacks particularly affect players who use third-party applications, in particular, cheats for Call of Duty.

After Activision spokesperson Delani Simmons announced the investigation, it became known that hackers successfully used malware to access players' computers. They stole credentials such as logins for game accounts and even crypto wallets.

An official source from Activision said that the company does not provide assistance in removing the malware. They also noted that the problem is related to third-party software providers, not Activision's internal infrastructure.

An investigation has revealed that a Call of Duty malware developer known as Zeebler may have been involved in the intrusion. He told TechCrunch that he discovered the attack after one of his customers lost access to their account due to the malware. According to Zeebler, the malware was posing as official software, but was actually designed to steal user data.

According to a spokesperson for Activision, the company's servers remain secure, but users are advised to be cautious when downloading third-party applications and always verify the authenticity of login pages.
