A new malware that looks like GTA6 but is actually a malicious program has appeared for Mac computers.
Here's What We Know
This program tries to get your passwords and other personal data. It does this by pretending to be a game and forcing you to install it. Once installed, it searches for your passwords and other important data in an attempt to steal them.
In order to protect yourself, it is important not to install programs from unreliable sources and not to give access to your personal data if you are asked to do so. It's also important to keep your computer and programs up to date to keep it safe.
Researchers advise users to be extra careful and take the following steps to protect their systems:
- Do your due diligence when installing apps from outside the official Mac App Store.
- Never follow instructions that compromise Gatekeeper protection.
- Avoid providing confidential information through system prompts or requests.
- Keep your devices and security apps up to date regularly.
