Sharp Basio Active 2: a smartphone for pensioners that can be washed with soap and water
Sharp has unveiled an unusual smartphone called Sharp Basio Active 2.
Here's What We Know
The gadget is designed for older users and easily withstands active use: it is not afraid of drops and bumps, has water protection under IP68 and military certification MIL-STD-810H, which indicates high reliability and durability.
An interesting feature of the device was the ability to wipe it with wet wipes and even wash it using soap.
Since this is a smartphone for retirees, it has three physical buttons under the screen, a 5.7-inch display with large, clear text as well as large images and letters. There is an inbuilt call recording software that can automatically record calls from unknown numbers. And on the side there is a button to quickly launch the voice assistant, so you don't have to search for apps or type text manually.
Apart from this, the smartphone has got a Snapdragon 695 processor, 4/64 GB of storage, 50 MP main camera and 8 MP front camera, NFC and a 4000 mAh battery.
The Sharp Basio Active 2 costs around $275 and is already on sale in Japan. Whether it will be available in other countries is unknown.
