Samsung refuses to supply displays for iPhone SE 4
After intensive negotiations, Samsung Display has decided not to supply displays for Apple's upcoming iPhone SE 4. This decision was made due to price differences between the companies.
Here's What We Know
According to recent reports, Samsung Display offered its panels for USD 30 per unit, which was the lowest price among other suppliers. However, Apple was not ready to pay more than USD 20 for each panel.
Apple is now looking for alternative sources of supply, and according to the IT Home report, the company has approached the second largest supplier, BOE. BOE has reportedly agreed to supply displays for the iPhone SE 4 for $25 per unit.
This decision came as a surprise to many, as Samsung Display was unable to reach an agreement with Apple, while BOE, despite having a higher initial price, was able to reduce it to a more acceptable level for the company.
Perhaps Samsung Display's refusal is related to strategic calculations, as the company may be interested in concentrating on supplying displays for more expensive iPhone models.
