Samsung's Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Note 20 flagships will no longer receive Google's monthly security patches

Samsung is moving its 2020 flagship smartphones away from quarterly updates.

Here's What We Know

We're talking about the Galaxy S20, GalaxyS20+, Galaxy S20 Ultra, Galaxy S20 FE, Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. The company announced this on the Samsung Mobile Security website.

These smartphone models will no longer receive updates every month. Instead, Samsung will release firmware on the devices every three months.

Incidentally, Samsung originally planned to support the gadgets for 4 years, but eventually increased the support to 5 years.

Flashback

The Galaxy S20, GalaxyS20+, Galaxy S20 Ultra, Galaxy S20 FE, Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra debuted in 2020 with Android 10 on board. All models are now running Android 13 operating system with One UI 5 on top.
