Insider: in 2024 Ubisoft will release a roguelike game based on the Prince of Persia franchise from the developers of Dead Cells
In early 2024, Ubisoft released the highly regarded action-platformer Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. The announcement of this game came as a surprise because, barring a remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time that went into production hell, the company hasn't revisited one of its most successful franchises in years.
But it looks like the French publisher is serious about bringing the once popular series back to the market.
Here's What We Know
Authoritative insider Tom Henderson shared quite sensational news: according to his information in 2024 will be released in another game Prince of Persia.
Moreover, it is being developed by Evil Empire studio, which is known for its long-term and extremely successful support of the popular game Dead Cells. This game combines elements of platformer, roguelike and metroidvania and, according to Henderson, the new Prince of Persia will repeat this concept.
The insider mentions in his piece that the game has been in development for four years and is called Rogue Prince of Persia, but it's unclear if this is a codename or if the game will get the same on release.
Tom Henderson claims that Rogue Prince of Persia will be released as early as this year on Steam Early Access and will receive ongoing support based on player input and feedback, much like what happened with Dead Cells.
Rogue Prince of Persia is likely to be officially announced in the summer of 2024 at Ubisoft's regular Forward show.
