OnePlus is introducing a new AI Eraser feature powered by AI

OnePlus is entering the artificial intelligence race with a new AI Eraser feature that allows users to easily remove unwanted elements from their photos.

The feature is powered by OnePlus' own large language model and will be joined by other OnePlus AI features later this year. OnePlus is following the growing trend of AI-assisted photo editing, following the lead of Google and Samsung.

AI Eraser works in a similar way, allowing users to highlight unwanted elements such as people, objects or imperfections in their photos in the Photo Gallery app. The AI-backed AI analyses the selection and intelligently replaces it with a contextually appropriate background.

The AI Eraser feature will begin a gradual rollout in April, appearing on select OnePlus devices including the OnePlus 12, OnePlus 12R, OnePlus 11, OnePlus Open and OnePlus Nord CE 4. It remains unclear if the feature will be added via an Oxygen OS update or if this update is specifically for the OnePlus Photo Gallery app.
