The upcoming Pixel 8a randomly appeared in a Google Fi Wireless advert
Google Pixel 7a, one of the best budget Android smartphones, has been on the market for almost a year now and the new Pixel 8a is close. Google has already announced its annual I/O developer conference on 14 May and we will be able to see the new phone at the event. However, even before that, several images of the phone have leaked in advertisements for the company's Fi Wireless service.
Here's What We Know
Google Fi is a virtual mobile network operator that sells mobile connections under its own brand, partnering with registered carriers like Verizon and T-Mobile. In countries where Google Fi operates, adverts for the service are quite common. One such commercial spotted by a YouTube user reveals the upcoming Pixel 8a in two colours - blue and coral.
The author compares the device to another advert that shows two black Pixel 8 smartphones. While this could be an intentional leak, it's easy to see a definite pattern here. For example, the original Pixel Watch was accidentally forgotten in a bar shortly before its release, and press images for the Pixel 8 series also appeared online shortly before the official announcement.
