Xiaomi starts SU7 shipments and the Redmi CEO might get one as a gift
Xiaomi Auto kicked off the delivery ceremony of the first batch of its SU7 electric car at Xiaomi's Yizhuang car factory in Yizhuang, Beijing. Xiaomi's founder and CEO, Lei Jun, personally opened the doors of each SU7 and handed over the cars to their new owners.
Here's What We Know
On the same day, Lei Jun announced that he would gift the SU7s to Redmi CEO, Wang Teng Thomas, if the first sales target of the new Redmi Turbo 3 phone is met. This announcement came right after Redmi officially announced the Turbo 3's launch date of 10 April.
Wang Teng also mentioned that the Redmi team has done a great job with the Turbo 3 and is confident of sales success with everyone's support. He also remarked that if the Redmi team achieves its goal with the Redmi Turbo 3, it will offer some benefits to consumers.
As for the new phone, it is positioned as a "flagship killer" and is the first product of Redmi's new Turbo series. This phone will be powered by the new Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip, which is essentially a stripped down version of the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and is aimed at mid-range, performance-focused devices.
