The information was shared by the company Rheinmetall. We are talking about 20 additional infantry fighting vehicles in modification 1A3 with an integrated laser rangefinder. Deliveries of weapons are scheduled for 2024. By the way, Germany has already transferred a three-digit number of Marder combat vehicles to Ukraine.

Flashback

The Marder 1A3 is a German tracked infantry fighting vehicle. It has been in service with the Bundeswehr since the 1970s. The BMP has many modifications and seats up to 10 men.

The Marder 1A3 boasts a sealed hull made of armour plates of several varieties up to 30 mm thick. These protect the front of the MMP from 20mm and 25mm bullets from 200 metres away, while the sides protect against shrapnel and 7.62mm small arms fire. As for armament, it is a 20mm RH 202 automatic cannon and an MG3 7.62mm machine gun paired with it. Also, the BMP still has one machine gun on the roof of the troop compartment.
