This feature, which is available for the Dyson Gen5detect system, works using augmented reality. CleanTrace displays the path the vacuum has travelled in purple, allowing users to see exactly where they have already cleaned and where they need more attention.

Although the option may seem silly to some, Dyson emphasises its practicality and usefulness to consumers, especially those who regularly spend time cleaning.
