In the US, teenagers prefer iPhone and Apple Watch
According to the latest Piper Sandler survey of teenagers in the US, the iPhone continues to be the most desirable smartphone.
Here's What We Know
The report shows that 85% of teens surveyed own an iPhone, and 86% plan to choose it as their next smartphone.
The number of iPhone owners has decreased since the previous survey in 2023, but the numbers are still high. Increased interest in premium smartphones and constant innovation in the company's product portfolio are driving this trend.
It is noted that Apple's dominance among teenagers has become the subject of attention of the US Department of Justice in connection with an antitrust lawsuit. The Ministry points to the social pressure that encourages teenagers to switch to iPhones, which could have a negative impact on the smartphone market.
At the same time, Apple Watch remains popular among teenagers, with one-third of respondents using it and 13% planning to buy one in the next six months.
In terms of media services, Spotify was found to be the most popular among teens for music, with Apple Music lagging behind. While Apple TV+ remains unpopular among teens, Netflix and YouTube continue to attract a wide audience.
