In January 2023, after 14 years of partnership between Blizzard Entertainment and the Chinese corporation NetEase, the parties failed to reach an agreement on further cooperation and cancelled the contract. A little more than a year later, the agreement was re-signed.

Here's What We Know

Blizzard announced the signing of a new agreement with NetEase. Blizzard games such as World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, Warcraft III: Reforged, Overwatch 2, StarCraft, Diablo III, and Heroes of the Storm will return to China in the summer of 2024.

Microsoft Gaming also signed a separate agreement with NetEase. It is aimed at making the Chinese corporation's games available on Xbox consoles.
