Sony has unveiled new ULT Power Series Bluetooth speakers - ULT Field 1, ULT Field 7 and ULT Tower 10
Sony recently introduced a new line of audio products called the ULT Power Series. This is the company's attempt to simplify its names, so say goodbye to Extra Bass and XE-Series. They're all united under one ULT Power Series brand.
Here's What We Know
There are three new speakers in the new series: the ULT Field 1, ULT Field 7, and ULT Tower 10. All of them feature a ULT button that provides bass boost.
The ULT Field 1 is a standard portable Bluetooth speaker. It is compact and available in four different colours. The battery lasts about 12 hours on a single charge, and the case is IP67 water and dust resistant. There is also a built-in microphone for hands-free calling. The speaker will cost $130.
The ULT Field 7 is an upgraded version of the Field 1. It's bigger but still portable and includes two ULT buttons. One provides deeper bass in the lower frequency range and the other provides a powerful, punchy bass. The battery lasts 30 hours, which is excellent and includes fast charging. The speaker has LED lighting that synchronises with music. It is also advertised as a karaoke machine, thanks to its built-in microphone port. The Field 7 is priced at $500.
The ULT Tower 10 is the most powerful Bluetooth tower speaker in the series and is designed for residential use. It connects wirelessly to stereos and TVs for enhanced sound and includes the same two bass boost buttons as the Field 7. There's also a sound optimisation function that detects local noise and adjusts settings to adapt to the environment. The speaker has omnidirectional, synchronised backlighting and has two microphone inputs for karaoke duets. One wireless microphone is included. Listeners can connect up to 100 compatible speakers simultaneously, including the Field 7. The ULT Tower 10 will cost $1200.
The new speakers in the series will go on sale soon.
