New data from Apple: It takes 334 days for a person to complete a marathon
New data from the Apple Heart and Movement Study by scientists at Brigham and Women's Hospital reveals interesting statistics about people's training habits, especially those who want to run a marathon.
Here's What We Know
According to the study, more than 1500 participants successfully completed approximately 2623 marathons from November 2019 to January 2024. It took one person 334 days to cover this huge distance.
Overall data from the study also shows that around 197,700 participants have used the Apple Watch for walking and over 99,400 for running since the study was launched in 2019.
When it comes to training strategies, most participants increased their distance gradually, reducing their workload before important competitions. It was also found that those who ran the most had significantly better results on marathon day.
