Pixel 9 Pro Fold: this is likely to be the name of Google's new foldable smartphone
Google seems to have decided to change the name of its new foldable smartphone.
Here's What We Know
The information was shared by dataminer @Za_Raczke. According to the leak, the smartphone will be part of the Pixel 9 lineup. That is, there will be four models in the new series of devices:
- Pixel 9 - codename tokay
- Pixel9 Pro - codenamed caiman
- Pixel9 Pro XL - codename komodo
- Pixel 9 Pro Fold - code name comet

In terms of specs, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is rumoured to get an 8.02" main display and a 6.29" external screen. In comparison, the Pixel Fold model comes with 7.6" and 5.8" screens respectively. The smartphone will also be equipped with a new Tensor G4 processor, 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 4.0 storage. The gadget is expected to hit the market with Android 15 operating system.
When We Can Expect It
Google may show the Pixel 9 Pro Fold at the I/O 2024 conference, but the full-fledged release of the device should be expected in autumn. The novelty will be released along with other Pixel 9 models.
