As part of the launch, Adobe also released a free beta of a mobile assistant that responds to voice commands and integration with browser extensions for Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome.
First introduced in February, the Acrobat AI assistant uses a chatbot interface to search for information in documents, build summaries and extract quotes. Adobe says it can help taxpayers, consumers and students with a variety of electronic materials.
Adobe senior vice president Abhigyan Modi said the company is working to expand the assistant's capabilities so it can support users as they work on multiple documents simultaneously. As opposed to creating its own language models, Adobe is relying on users' content to provide information.
For now, Adobe is calling the current subscription prices "early access," implying that they may change in the future. Nevertheless, Adobe's move demonstrates the company's commitment to harnessing the potential of artificial intelligence to improve user interaction with digital documents.
