'Baywatch' star returns to the big screen: Pamela Anderson to star alongside Liam Neeson in 'Naked Gun' remake
The 90s star and sex symbol is returning to the big screen. Pamela Anderson has signed a contract with Paramount Pictures to star in the remake of "Naked Gun", where she will play alongside Liam Neeson.
Here's What We Know
"Naked Gun" is based on the popular series of comedy parodies of crime films released in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The new version is directed by Akiva Schaffer from a script by Dan Gregor, Doug Mand and Schaffer himself.
The original film looked for inspiration from standard cop show and film plots that audiences had grown to love. It followed a hapless and goofy detective named Frank Drebin, embodied by Leslie Nielsen, who nonetheless unbelievably solved crimes and saved the day.
In the Naked Gun reboot, Drebin will be played by Neeson and Anderson will play his dim-witted but sexy lover, played in the original by Priscilla Presley.
Anderson is best known as a Playboy model who became an international star due to her beauty, after appearing in the TV series Baywatch, in which she played 110 episodes.
After Baywatch, the actress starred in various comedy films and was often a guest on various talk shows, and later her career as an actress came to an end.
Her participation in "Naked Gun" is an opportunity to return to the big screen, and next to an Oscar-nominated actor. Hopefully, the attempt will be a successful one.
When We Can Expect It
Paramount plans to release the film on 18 July 2025.
