Samsung Galaxy M55 with Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor gets ready for launch in Europe
Samsung's first smartphone based on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor, the Galaxy M55, may soon be available in Europe. This follows information on Samsung's product pages in Portugal and Poland. The handset has also appeared in a listing at a Swiss retailer, indicating an official launch in the region soon.
Here's What We Know
The Galaxy M55 has a number of notable features and is a phone of many innovations. It is the first Galaxy phone with a 50MP front camera, the first Galaxy phone based on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset and the first mid-budget Galaxy phone to support 45W charging. It is also the first M-series phone with 12GB of RAM in the top-end version, stereo speakers and an inbuilt fingerprint sensor.
The smartphone will get Android 14 with One UI 6.1 out of the box, but without Galaxy AI features. The smartphone will get four major Android updates and five years of security updates.
It's not yet clear when the M55 will be available in European countries, but European retailers are already listing prices in some countries. For example, in Switzerland, this 128GB smartphone will cost more than 400 euros, while in Portugal you will already have to pay almost 500 euros for it. The 256GB variant there costs almost €550. Perhaps the prices are not final yet and the final cost of the smartphone may differ.
