Design innovation: Samsung may move to a vertical app drawer
Samsung will join the trend that is becoming increasingly popular among Android manufacturers.
Here's What We Know
The Android app drawer has become one of the key features of the platform. Now, Samsung has decided to switch to a vertical list of apps instead of the traditional sliding panel.
Some users have already had the opportunity to try this feature through the "Home Up" module in the Good Lock app, which provided advanced settings for the One UI home screen. This option is currently being prepared for support in future versions of the operating system.
Information about this move emerged during a discussion on Samsung's forums, where a member of the Good Lock support team revealed details about the company's plans. According to the Samsung representative, "the Home Up vertical list feature is currently being prepared for support in the next version of the operating system."
Users can expect the vertical app drawer to become a standard for future Samsung devices running the Android 15 update with a modified version of One UI 7.
