Speculations about the appearance of a HomePod with a display have been actively discussed since 2021, and it seems that Apple is actually working on several product options. One of the simplest options is a HomePod with a glass touchscreen.
According to Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman, Apple is also experimenting with HomePod variants with a built-in camera.

The screen can show basic information about media files played in apps such as Apple Music and Apple Podcasts. The HomePod display can also show some important notifications, potentially allowing users to answer phone calls and messages.
At the same time, code found in tvOS 17.4 has confirmed the existence of a more advanced HomePod prototype that has a display the size of an iPad mini 6.
Although the exact release date of the updated HomePod is still unknown, there is a high probability that this product will appear on the market in the near future.
