Android 15 will be able to quarantine suspicious apps to protect your phone
Android 15 may offer a new way to protect devices from misbehaving apps by quarantining them. This security measure quarantines apps into silent mode, restricting their actions and interactions with other apps.
Here's What We Know
Android users already have malware protection thanks to Google Play Protect, which scans for malware in real time. However, it can sometimes miss an infected app. Android 15 may give users a new way to protect their devices from misbehaving apps.
Quarantined apps will also be visible on the home screen and settings, but notifications from them will be disabled, all actions of those apps will stop and all active windows will be hidden. The app will not be able to make a call on the device, its services cannot be invoked by other apps and it cannot receive messages from other apps or the system.
The code for the app quarantine feature was first spotted in Android 14 QPR2 Beta 1 late last year, but there is no confirmation when the feature will be available to all Android users. It's possible that the feature won't appear in Android 15 but in later versions, as Google Play Store or Google Play Services are not currently asking for the necessary permission.
