Warner Bros. has revealed the first trailer for M. Night Shyamalan's detective thriller "Trap"

The director, whose works include Split, The Sixth Sense and Glass, clearly has a knack for suspense and surprising plot twists, so it's no surprise that the trailer for M. Night Shyamalan's upcoming Trap immediately immerses us in the unsettling atmosphere of the upcoming film.

Here's What We Know

The Warner Bros. film stars Josh Hartnett, whose character initially appears to be an ordinary caring father, but it soon becomes clear that he is hiding a dark secret that could change his life and the lives of others.

The video shows Hartnett's character named Cooper travelling with his daughter to a pop star's concert. On his way to the bathroom, Cooper notices a large number of police officers on the concert grounds and learns that they have arrived to catch a serial killer. However, it turns out that Cooper is exactly who the trap was set for.

Trap was scripted and directed by Shyamalan himself. The film also stars Ariel Donoghue, Saleka Shyamalan, Hayley Mills and Allison Pill.

When We Can Expect It

"Trap" is set for release on 9 August.
