The Post News platform is being closed: What is the reason?
Microblogging platform Post News, which sought to become an alternative to Twitter, has announced its closure. Post News was launched just a year and a half ago after Elon Musk acquired Twitter.
Here's What We Know
Founder Noam Bardin, formerly of Waze, made the announcement on Friday, admitting that the service had failed to achieve the rapid growth needed to create a significant platform.
Although Post had the backing of prominent investors such as a16z and collaborated with well-known personalities, including Silicon Valley journalist Kara Swisher, it failed to achieve a sufficient level of success.
However, Bardin stressed that the company made an important contribution to the development of monetisation of digital news through experiments with micropayments and other innovative approaches.
The closure of Post comes as competition in the microblogging market is growing. The popularity of other services, such as Substack, Beehiiv and Ghost, indicates a change in approaches to media and news content.
