Media : Netflix has cancelled production on a mini-series about the Rat Gang based on The Witcher universe

In late 2022, it was reported that between the third and fourth seasons of The Witcher, Netflix was planning to release a spin-off about the criminal gang The Rats, which viewers caught a glimpse of at the end of the third season.

But it seems that this idea has been abandoned.

Redanian Intelligence, a thematic portal dedicated to media projects in The Witcher franchise, reported that the spin-off about The Rats has been cancelled.

According to the site's sources, Netflix managed to shoot the first two episodes of the mini-series, but after a detailed review of the footage, the company's management decided to abandon its further production.

Perhaps the filmed footage will be used in the Season 4 of the main series.

Recall, last week Netflix confirmed that the fifth season of The Witcher, which is filmed in parallel with the fourth, will be the final season.
