Microsoft seeks to collaborate with Samsung to strengthen AI capabilities
The age of artificial intelligence is upon us and the world's biggest companies are looking for new partnerships to strengthen their AI capabilities. Microsoft, hoping to partner with Samsung, has scheduled a summit between the two companies next month.
Here's What We Know
Samsung's head of semiconductor business, Kyung Kye-hyun, has been invited to the MS CEO Summit 2024, which will be held on 14 May in Redmond, Washington. Microsoft founder Bill Gates and CEO Satya Nadella will hold private meetings with the head of Samsung's semiconductor business to find new areas of collaboration to foster AI partnerships.
Microsoft is reportedly interested in exploring opportunities to jointly develop and supply AI chips with Samsung. The company may also be interested in using some of its AI software services on Samsung's electronic devices. Much of the work is done by Google's AI services in Galaxy AI and Microsoft hopes that its services will also be integrated into Samsung's Galaxy AI suite of apps, which is currently available on 100 million devices and will only expand in the coming years.
Apart from Samsung, Microsoft has also invited executives from SK Hynix, LG Electronics and SK Telecom. Experts emphasise that invitations to the management of leading technology companies in South Korea by Microsoft do not happen very often. This demonstrates the seriousness of Microsoft's intentions to build alliances that contribute to its success in the field of artificial intelligence.
