Can vacuum, cook and pour wine: China's Astribot reveals AI-powered robot S1
It seems that the robots of Boston Dynamics and Tesla have a worthy competitor: the Chinese company Astribot has presented a smart robot-humanoid S1.
Here's What We Know
There is no detailed technical information about the robot yet, but Astribot showed its work on video. S1 uses artificial intelligence to perform tasks quickly, learn and mimic human movements.
In the video, the robot does various household tasks quite quickly: peels cucumbers, fries a sandwich, opens bottles, irons and folds things, pulls tablecloths from under glasses, vacuums and even writes in calligraphic handwriting.
Astribot claims that the robot can perform movements at speeds of up to 10 metres per second, and each of its arms can withstand a load of up to 10kg.
However, the underside of the robot is visible in the video, so it's unclear how it moves.
The S1 should go on sale later this year.
