Peloton producer is going to run a marathon in honour of Apple Watch
Jesse Malone, a Peloton producer from New York City, is preparing for the Washington Marathon to mark the one-year anniversary of the moment when her Apple Watch saved her life. In May 2023, the watch alerted Malone to a possible atrial fibrillation, which allowed her to seek immediate medical attention.
Here's What We Know
Malone didn't notice any symptoms while exercising on an exercise bike, but her Apple Watch detected a high heart rate, prompting her to seek help. Doctors diagnosed her with atrial fibrillation.
Despite not having a family history or underlying heart problem, Malone has changed her lifestyle, cut out caffeine and alcohol, and started paying more attention to healthy eating and sleep. She is also actively involved in sports and is training for a marathon to celebrate her recovery and highlight the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
Malone's story shows how technology, such as the Apple Watch, can be beneficial to health and even save lives, even for those who consider themselves healthy.
Atrial fibrillation is a serious condition that can be symptomless and lead to serious consequences, so timely diagnosis is important to prevent complications.
