Media: most of the Nintendo Switch 2 components will be provided by Samsung Electronics

More and more information is coming out about Nintendo's new console, which is expected to go on sale as Switch 2.

We've already reported that the console will get magnetic Joy-Con mounts and will be slightly larger in size than the 2017 model.

Here's What We Know

Themedia reported that after an eight-year break in co-operation, Samsung Electronics has entered into an agreement with Nintendo.

The Korean corporation Samsung will supply almost all the components for the Switch 2, starting with the display.

It is reported that the Nintendo Switch 2 will likely be equipped with an NVIDIA Tegra T239 chip manufactured using Samsung's 7LPH technology. Samsung is expected to provide the Japanese device with fifth-generation V-NAND memory, which will be embedded in the cartridges and internal memory.

Earlier, media reports suggested that Nintendo plans to start selling Switch 2 with 10 million units to avoid the shortages seen when the original Switch launched.

According to insiders, the console will be released in Q1 2025.

Nintendo will apparently hold a launch event for the console in the coming months, but it definitely won't happen at gamescom 2024, as the company has already announced that it is refusing to participate in the German show.
