The atmosphere of 90s America through a VHS camera: the authors of Life is Strange showed a new trailer for their upcoming game Lost Records: Bloom & Rage

The Don't Nod studio, which is known for the Life is Strange series, loves experiments, which is very admirable. In October 2023, it released a meditative, picturesque game about a climber called Jusant, and in early 2024, Banishers was released: Ghosts of New Eden about ghost hunters in the old forests of North America. At The Game Awards 2023, the studio presented its new project, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage. And at the ID@Xbox show dedicated to indies, it showed a new trailer.

Here's What We Know

In the new trailer, Swann, one of the main characters, records everything around her on her VHS camera and comments on the events. Thanks to the camera, the trailer feels like it was shot in the 90s. And it's not just that, because the game's story begins in 1995. The events take place in the town of Velvet Cove, which conveys the atmosphere of the US hinterland with wooded terrain.

When We Can Expect It

The game is scheduled for release in 2024 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.

Flashback

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is a time-travelling adventure game. In the summer of 1995, school friends Swann, Nora, Autumn, and Kat found something strange and mysterious that changed their lives.

They met again 27 years later to confront a long-hidden secret that made them promise never to talk about it again.

So far, almost nothing is known about the game. What exactly the girls found and why they hid it is a mystery. However, it is known that Lost Records is being developed on the Unreal Engine.
