WhatsApp error: Android users cannot send video files
Android users are having trouble sending videos via WhatsApp. Recent updates to the app have caused a bug that blocks the ability to send videos from Android devices.
Here's What We Know
A fix in the WhatsApp app, version 2.24.9.71, reportedly resolves the issues that Android users have been experiencing when trying to send videos.
The update was removed from the Play Store overnight, and WhatsApp Beta v2.24.10.3 users should also be able to send videos again.
However, there are more and more complaints on Reddit about problems with sending videos. Even after the update, some users report that they still encounter a bug that prevents them from sending videos.
Videos shot or uploaded locally to Android devices are particularly vulnerable to this issue. iOS users were reportedly able to send MOV videos shot on an iPhone or received on WhatsApp.
A temporary solution to continue sending video messages is to revert to the previous version of WhatsApp 2.24.8.85.
